Jamie Lee Curtis hosts a free ‘John Wick’ online screening on Friday, May 8

Any plans on Friday?  Where are you heading out?  Yea, we thought so.  We’ll be home on Friday, May 8 too, but how about this: Jamie Lee Curtis is hosting a free online “John Wick” (2014) screening that night! Every Wednesday, Art House Film Wire touts our favorite movies, because…well, just because!  This is especially true this week.   No, we don’t have a specific news tie-in or birthday to trigger a celebration of the Oscar-nominated  “Cold War” (2018), an intricately-constructed story of a dysfunctional relationship during the 1950s and 60s. Arizona’s award-winning ‘Raising Buchanan’ arrives on streaming services, DVD and Blu-ray

“Raising Buchanan”, a wildly-conceived comedy about a woman who steals U.S. President James Buchanan’s remains to extract a big payday, is available to stream or purchase on May 5.  Entirely filmed in Arizona, writer/director Bruce Dellis’ movie debuted at the 2019 Phoenix Film Festival, and it won the Best Arizona Feature Award.
